Great Flour Incidents in "My" family

Having seen the recent "viral video" involving a mother, flour, and her boys, I reflected on the two experiences I have had with FLoUR and toddlers!
This January, my oldest son seen in this video, will be 20 and I wonder if he remembers the fear he felt when reporting this chaotic moment to his parents?
We left him as a 12-year-old to babysit his 9 and 3-year-old brothers while we attended a dinner party TWO DOORS from our house. THIS posted clip (after the jump) is the scene my husband happened upon when checking in! (notice the two HANDS on my son's Cub Scout Shirt!)

Losing weight during a holiday: possible with a plan

Weight Watcher members dread holiday gatherings because their resolve to shed pounds is wrapped in a bacon croissant crescent roll dipped in hollandaise sauce and served with a side order of guilt!

This year, I have come up with a fool-proof way to shed a few holiday pounds while still indulging in some of the luxurious delectables of the season. If you're a Mom of multiple children who require daily nourishment and you are the go-to-gal (even though they may be capable of grazing themselves), this plan is for you!

Sir Ken Robinson: Changing Education Paradigms

This is an intriguing perspective on educating our children in the ever-changing global public world! The presentation is engaging, entertaining, and enlightening.

A little humor goes a long way

A $300 computer board for our 8-year-old Kenmore fridge (which has a $750 2-year-old compressor) is going to look beautiful wrapped with a red ribbon and green tinsel underneath the tree!

"Life is maintenance" for EVERYONE and happens daily, weekly and monthly---but seems to ALWAYS happen to us before a major gathering for a holiday/celebration!

Surviving these moments for me.....................

What goes up, must come down!

Autumn colors are fading and being replaced with the dullness of winter's beginnings! This only means one thing to happy homeowners who enjoy a bit of shade on their property!  WORK WORK WORK! So we as parents combine a little "slave labor" mixed in with a value lesson on the importance of working hard and witnessing the fruits of one's labor------------------except raking leaves is NEVER ending here in the Midwest!  (Please do not report us for breaking any child-labor laws when you see our kids salivating with fatigue and hunger!)

Sandusky, Paterno, Penn State: borrowed thoughts

Readers across the world-wide-web have been forced to reflect this week on protecting tweens/teens from the evils of the world. My circle of friends have debated, discussed, and digested our feelings concerning the revelation this week of a pedophile stalking and attacking his prey without punishment for years.

The sentiments written in this article-"Why kids are more important than bowl games" by Shawn appearing on the Parenting Web Site mirrors my thoughts and I am interested in hearing comments from followers of my site.

My FIRST award on 11-11-11

"My" November 11, 2011 rewarded me with a:

“What  is the Liebster Award?”, you may ask. It’s an award that’s meant to be passed along to blogs with fewer than 200 followers. The purpose is to help give awesome blogs a bit of a nudge in the way of followers and fans. I want to Thank Making It All Work for giving me this award and showing my Blog some love!!!

Labor and Delivery: should it be a "family affair?"

"The Animals," referred to in my title, appear in this epic picture. March 3, 2005--the best thing about this day for the 3 "monkeys" was missing school and eating Wendy's hamburgers for lunch!

For their parents, it was welcoming their fourth child and ONLY daughter. For me, it was realizing that I would NEVER have to have this experience again!
Our family was complete on this day!

Times are a changin': Mac OS X Lion---iOS 5---iPhone 4s

iPhone 4s
A huge technology transition the past two weeks has occupied so much of my time, but I am a forward thinker and willing to adapt to change when it comes to new electronic gadgets and updates.

My iPhone 4s has required my computers be updated to Mac OSX Lion and devices upgraded to the latest and greatest software which inevitably leads to disappointment, depression, and downtime.

(I haven't switched over to iCloud as MobileMe is working until June 2012). Some bridges I won't cross until the flooding begins.

As painful as change is, it is WORTH the growing pains as the results are amazing!

At least when it comes to technology and everything Apple!
